MEET: ALAN GRAHAM
Uniquely qualified in his role as consumer property advisor, Alan has a long history of both public involvement
and private enterprise. He has conducted over 300 education seminars and presentations as diverse as Business
Geography, Change & Transition, Travel, and Culture. For over 25 years, Alan has explored and trudged isolated
and popular beaches, fascinating colonial towns and robust cities, remote villages, and raw jungles of this
magnificent peninsula. Alan first began writing about the Yucatan Peninsula for the Mexican Government Tourism
Commission in the 1980s.
More recent articles and quotes have appeared in Caribbean Property Magazine, International Living Magazine,
Mexico Insider, IL Real Estate Library Editions, Agora Publications, and in the promotional advertising of
Mexico: The Owner's Manual among others. A Pelican Publishing author for many years, Alan has written several
editions of Pelican Travel Guidebooks including NEW ORLEANS ON THE HALF-SHELL.
His service & research background include lots of shell-shocked years in secondary and university education,
Hotel & Restaurant Management and even a stint as a Private Investigator. Alan holds way too many degrees and
was a college football player at the University of Utah - his back still hurts.
A New Orleans transplant and a permanent resident of Mexico, Alan and his partner, Heather, divide their time
between their Rancho Lumi Gardens outside of Merida and the Caribbean and Gulf Coasts of Yucatan Peninsula.

MEET: HEATHER MOREAU
Heather brings a remarkable blend of business experience and applied education to the consumer property
advocacy scene. Originally from Toronto she has spent most of her adult life as a U.S. and Mexican resident - all
the while proudly hanging onto those tight Canadian vowels.
Heather remembers fondly her first trip to Yucatan - to a very sleepy and quiet area on a mostly isolated stretch
of sugar white beach. A blink later Cancun would emerge as an international resort destination and a travel
household word. In 2007 she co-authored a series of articles for Caribbean Property Magazine.
With her strong French and British bloodlines, Heather somehow combined both passion and practicality in
successfully Managing her own Luxury Suites Hotel in New Orleans for ten years. With a toilet brush in one hand
and a glass of white wine in the other, she expertly juggled accommodations tasks for years before moving to
Yucatan permanently.
Preparing for her role as Hotelier, Heather flourished in the academic world as a Tulane University Center
Director and as a University of Michigan Administrator following lots of really, really fun years of teaching in the
trenches. In the business world she has led Corporate Seminars and Training Sessions for the likes of Ford Motor
Company, Toyota, Shell Oil Company and Nissan.
With five degrees (about 4 degrees above normal) from the Universities of Toronto and Michigan, Heather is
fluent in several languages but enjoys mocking pretense and snobbery. Her smile, laughter, and mostly raw
humor are infectious.
